Nashua River Water Treatment System
MT treated contaminated water from a 600-foot portion of the Nashua River. MT's scope of work involved mobilizing an MT designed and operated Water Treatment System to conduct full-scale treatment operations. MT's water treatment and discharge system was capable of continuous treatment of 500 GPM of sediment-laden, asbestos and coal tar contaminated water obtained from dewatering and excavation of the Nashua River.
Following treatment, the water was sampled and analyzed to ensure that treatment standards were met. MT attained a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Exclusion Permit to discharge treated water back into the Nashua River.
MT's water treatment operations supported the combined efforts of EPA, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and other New England Remedial Action Contract Team members, to restore the environmental integrity of a section of the Nashua River.
